Waterous Company, a global leader in fire suppression technology, announced that its new Mobile Demonstration Unit (MDU) Program is up and running with great success. The MDU Program offers Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS) demonstrations and Fire Pump Maintenance & Operation instruction capabilities. Each unit in the program is responsible for covering an area within the United States and Canada.
"Since launching the program we've had nothing but positive feedback from our customers," says Steve Toren, Western Area Sales Manager for Waterous. "We're glad to hear that stations across the US and Canada are finding that the courses we provide are a real value to their operations."
Subjects covered during the demonstrations include fire pump, foam proportioner, compressor, and accessory operation and maintenance. Single and two-stage pumps, PTO pumps, pressure control systems, foam proportioning systems, compressed air foam systems, pump shift mechanisms, priming systems, intake & discharge valves, and drain valves.
"We see the course as such a valuable tool that we provide it as a free service to all fire departments, OEM Dealers, & OEM's" says Mr. Toren. "At Waterous we feel that if a program like these can benefit our fellow firefighters in the field, we're all for it." Although demonstrations deal specifically with Waterous products and accessories, much of the material on operation and maintenance is applicable to other products, regardless of manufacturer. Highly trained Waterous representatives and firefighters conduct demonstrations.
Revolutionizing firefighting since 1886, Waterous has been manufacturing the most reliable, performance-enhancing pumps, power take-offs, valves and hydrants the fire service industry has to offer. Based out of South Saint Paul, Minnesota Waterous manufactures its complete product line in the USA.
