CGV Single-stage Vehicle-mounted Fire Pumps.

The efficient fire suppression performance and modern design make the CG series vehicle-mounted fire pumps outstanding in their class. The combination of single−stage design and vertically−split volute and pump transmission provides a pump that's simple to operate and easy to maintain. The use of heavy-duty gears, bearings and shafts provides longer, more trouble free service, and a high reserve capacity. For maximum operator flexibility, the CGV pump can be midship-mounted or PTO driven.

Low Maintenance

The power behind a CGV fire pump can be repaired and back in service faster than apparatus equipped with other brands of vehicle-mounted pumps. Backed by a 5-year warranty, and options for technician education courses, the CGV pump supplies complete confidence for operators and maintenance technicians alike.

Options and Accessories

CGV pumps come with a variety of transmission options to fit the needs of your fire department, and these vehicle-mounted water pumps easily interface with numerous accessories including discharge relief valves and intake relief valves. If properly equipped, CGV pumps can also pump foam and compressed air foam solution.

Specifications

  • Transmissions have constant mesh, helical gears made of alloy steel. All gears are crown shaved, carburized, hardened, have ground bores and are splash lubricated.
  • 17-4 stainless steel impeller shaft, heat-treated, machined and ground to precision (optional K500 Monel shaft only available when equipped with a K or T transmission).
  • Oil- or grease-lubricated, deep-groove ball bearings located outside the pump casing to accurately align and support the impeller shaft assembly.
  • Fully-enclosed, bronze, double-hubbed precision-balanced impeller (flame-plated hubs for extreme wear resistance optional).
  • Bronze replaceable wear rings to increase pump life and minimize maintenance costs.
  • Victaulic®, threaded or flanged intake connections.

Options and Accessories
  • Priming System: An electric, oil-free rotary vane primer mounted directly on a Waterous split-shaft pump transmission or separately mounted combined with a Waterous priming valve forms the priming system. A lubrication option allows the use of Prime-Safe lubricant (priming tank is required when the lubrication option is selected).
  • Pressure Control System: The Waterous Intake Relief Valve system is designed to act as a safety valve by "dumping" excess pressure from the inlet side of the pump. The Discharge Relief Valve provides sensitive pump control to protect firefighters from sudden pressure surges resulting from changes in discharge flows from the pump.
  • Manifold Drain Valve: Drains all points of the pump simultaneously with the operation of a single control.
  • Corrosion Protection: Replaceable zinc element that is installed directly on the pump intake piping and into the pump waterway. These anodes sacrifice the zinc element to galvanic corrosion.
  • Discharge Valves: Your choice of the trusted Waterous 1/4 turn 2.5" and 3.5" ball-type discharge valve or a 4" ANSI flanged discharge valve. Both options come standard with chrome-plated brass ball and hydraulically balanced seal assembly.
  • Overheat Protection Manager: The OPM consists of an illuminated warning light on the operator's panel whenever the pump approaches an overheat condition. Optional audible alarm is available.
  • Intake Fittings: Your choice of a 4", 4.5", or 5" threaded intake fitting (model CGVR), or a 5" flanged intake fitting (model CGVN). Note: 4.5" intake available in either 2.5" or 3" auxiliary intake ports. All other fittings come with 2.5" auxiliary intake ports only.
  • Tachometer: Tach. drive standard and operates at 1/2 input shaft speed.
  • Foam Manager: Consisting of a 500 or 1000 GPM foam manifold and foam proportioner.
  • Total Protection Package (TPP-5): The Total Protection Package is a comprehensive warranty that increases your standard warranty to include labor expenses to dismantle, remove and reinstall covered products or parts.
